The 18th match of HBL PSL V 2020 between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators from Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Where Quetta Gladiators won the toss and elected to bowl.
Peshawar Zalmi started batting first but lost their early wicket of Imam ul Haq on the short delivery of Sohail Khan where tried to punch but could not middle it as caught behind on the safe hand Sarfaraz Ahmed.
While Kamran Akmal looked good but could not stayed at the crease much as went back to pavilion after scoring 23 runs. Then Haider Ali and Shoaib Malik had the partnership of 54 runs that helped Zalmi ahead carry on.
Haider Ali lost his wicket just 11 runs short from his half century while Liam Livingstone also could not continue as went back to pavilion.
Shoaib Malik was outstanding performance off knocking 54 runs off just faced 27 balls including with 8, fours and only a six. Lewis Gregory last at the end contributed 19 runs that ended up their inning at 170 runs with the lost 6 wickets after played 20 overs.
In the runs chase Jason Roy and Shane Watson put up 45 runs of opening stand for Quetta Gladiators but they lost up their first wicket as Shane Watson caught and went back to pavilion after scoring 19 runs.
Jason Roy looked good as he started but could not carry scoreboard ahead as lost his after scoring 45 runs off just faced 26 balls including with 5, fours and 2, sixes.
Ahmed Shehzad started with the low strike rate as he could not manage to score much as went back to pavilion after scoring 10 runs from 17 balls that cost them a lot.
Ben Cutting and Mohammad Nawaz puts some powers with some six but that also could not continue as they both lost their wickets and left Quetta Gladiators in such trouble.
Sohail Khan with 2 back to back sixes but match came out from their hand as they were restricted at 140 runs with the lost of 7 wickets after played 15 overs.
